Thesis Methodology – Two Phase Writing

One of the most important parts in a thesis is the thesis methodology chapter. This is usually seen at the very beginning of the research paper where you will find the Introduction and the Literature review. The thesis methodology is always included in any thesis formats, this is because the chapter involves the presentation of how you have conducted the research in terms of data gathering and data analysis for that matter. When you write the part, it is always necessary to make the details clear enough so that your readers will have a good time understanding whether you have undertaken a clear approach of recognized data gathering techniques.

How to write a methodology involves to phases. The first one involves how you have acquired your data. There are simple things that can accommodate such a role and that you only need to choose the best strategy in data gathering based on your needs. Simply explain how you have extracted these data which should come from these common terms; data mining, surveying, interviewing and experimental design.

A sample thesis paper can also be used to identify the parts of a thesis methodology but this article should be enough. The second phase of writing the methodology is in terms of data analysis. Of course, you need to analyze the data that you have gathered to make up any sensible conclusion to your thesis argument and problems. Anyway, the very reason why you have acquired data in the first place is to have them analyzed to support your thesis statement and find answers to your problems.

    Hello Matthew,

usually the methodology is written after you finished the research. This is the only time when you can describe which sources you used, how you found them and how you worked with them. However, the fact that writing of the methodology chapter is in store for you should be kept in mind from the very beginning of the work at the thesis
